No more wars

Stop sending Americans to fight endless wars, make Congress vote before we go to war, audit the Pentagon, and spend the money on the people who serve and the families back home.

“I deployed four times, including to the Middle East. I saw the cruelty of those wars up close, and how little they accomplished. The people who pay are the ones who fight, their families, and every taxpayer back home. I’m done sending both overseas.”

Why it matters

For more than two decades, America has fought wars in the Middle East with no clear goal and no end. Hundreds of thousands of people have died, including thousands of American service members, and many more came home carrying wounds you can see and wounds you can’t.

Meanwhile, Congress has stopped doing its job. The Constitution gives Congress, not the president, the power to declare war. Instead, presidents of both parties keep stretching a 2001 authorization, passed before many of today’s troops were born, to justify new fights in new places.

And the money keeps flowing. The Pentagon has failed every full audit it has ever taken, while defense contractors post record profits. Every dollar wasted there is a dollar not spent on health care, child care, or the VA here at home.

Keith’s plan

No war without a vote

Congress declares war, not the president. Keith will vote to repeal outdated war authorizations and enforce the War Powers Resolution.

Audit the Pentagon

No more blank checks. Until the Pentagon can pass an audit, Congress should stop handing it more money than it asks for.

Crack down on contractor price gouging

End no-bid contracts and make contractors justify what they charge taxpayers.

Take care of the troops, not the contractors

Fair pay and housing for service members, real support for military families, and mental health care for everyone who serves.

Keep the promise to veterans

Fully fund the VA, cut the disability claims backlog, and never privatize it.

Spend it here

Put the money we save toward health care, child care and the communities our troops come home to.

1973

We’ve done it before

After Vietnam, Congress passed the War Powers Resolution over President Nixon’s veto to take back its power over war. Every veteran who came home from an endless war knows why that matters. It’s time Congress used it.

Common questions

Straight answers to what voters and reporters ask most.

Does “no more wars” mean cutting the military?

No. It means ending wars we shouldn’t be in and cutting the waste and contractor profits, not the pay and care of the people who serve.

What if America is attacked?

Then we defend ourselves, and Keith would be the first to vote for it. The Constitution already provides for that. What it doesn’t allow is open-ended wars without a vote.

Why should a veteran oppose these wars?

Because veterans are the ones who fought them. Keith saw what they cost and how little they achieved. Supporting the troops means not sending them into pointless wars.

What does this have to do with affordability?

Everything. Every dollar spent on endless war and Pentagon waste is a dollar not spent on Floridians’ health care, child care and paychecks.
